Ruthie Hillsman
Ruthie is the sixth child of the late Ada Ray and Albert Williams. She was born, raised and educated in Paducah, Kentucky. She and her family moved to Champaign in the late 1950s and she became active in the community right away. She was a member of the Champaign County Assistance Association, served on the Board of A Woman's Fund, the Women's Safe House and an active member of Gamma Upsilon Society. |
This Legacy is Yours was a cooperative effort between the National Council of Negro Women, Champaign County Chapter, and the Museum of the Grand Prairie.
