What do we accept into the collection?
We collect, preserve, and interpret the culture of East Central Illinois and Champaign County through artifacts and archival material. Our collections include textiles, toys, hand tools, farm equipment, photos, letters, oral histories, and so much more. Do you have something that you’d like to donate? We are especially interested in expanding our collection in the following areas:
- Civil Rights and Race Relations
- Community Life (parades, festivals, fairs and public events)
- Immigration and Immigrant Communities
- Local Businesses
- Military Service of Community Members
- Outdoor Recreation
- Public Safety (police, fire, EMT, first responders)
- Transportation (interurban, mass transit, railroad)
- Higher Education
