Program Location: Museum of the Grand Prairie, 950 N. Lombard St. Mahomet, IL 61853
Come spend the morning with staff members Rusty Maulding, Site Superintendent, and Michael Dale, Gardens and Trails Supervisor, exploring the beautiful gardens at Lake of the Woods Forest Preserve! Take a tour and learn how the different styles of landscape beds in the botanical garden can be translated to work for you in your home gardens.
This will be interactive and include discussion on basic landscape design principles. Planting in 3’s, 5’s and 7’s is no longer the rule of thumb depending on style and where you situate plants on your property. No tour would be complete without pointing out favorite plants for particular solutions along the way.
Participants will have the opportunity to take home canna lily bulbs!
Program will begin with a short introduction at the Museum of the Grand Prairie followed by an outdoor walking tour on the botanical garden’s paved walkways.
FREE CANNA LILY BULBS will be given away during this event!
