The Champaign County Forest Preserve District is dedicated to professional and responsible collections management. This facilitates great connections with peer organizations and mutual support. The Museum of the Grand Prairie recently had the privilege of working with the Pilgrim Library at Defiance College in Ohio.

The James acquisitions are important components of the museum’s collections. However, several artifacts and a small assemblage of archival material fell outside of the museum’s mission and were set aside. This same material was extremely mission relevant to the Defiance College Archive at the Pilgrim Library. Working together, we were able make a transfer.
