Medicine from the Past: A Sampling of Medicine from the Civil War Era & Springfield Area

Join us for the 15th Annual Lincoln Lecture Series featuring this engaging program. Mike Moseley, Curator of the Pearson Museum in Springfield, Illinois, will present this program discussing various developments in medicine from the Civil War era as well as notable moments in Springfield area medicine. The presentation will highlight particular artifacts within the collections at the Pearson Museum as well as a handful of objects currently on loan for the Museum of the Grand Prairie’s special exhibit, “A History of Healing: Infectious Diseases and Community Responses to Defeat Them.” Be sure to visit this exhibit soon to check out some of these artifacts on display and learn even more about medicine from the past!
