Program Location: Museum of the Grand Prairie, Lake of the Woods Forest Preserve, 950 N Lombard St, Mahomet, IL 61853
Did you know that a single Illinois bat can eat up to 3,000 insects each night? Join us to learn more about these ecologically important mammals and what recent studies have shown about local bats. After a presentation indoors, we will walk to the Covered Bridge to look for the bats that roost there. Representatives from the Illinois Bat Conservation Project will be on hand with special technology to detect and identify bats by their calls.
$3 per person. Program recommended for ages 18 and up*.
Space is limited; registration required by August 16 at ccfpd.org.
