Virginia Steward Rodgers

Virginia Steward RodgersVirginia S. Rodgers was born in Danville, Illinois, in 1911, the daughter of Flora and John Bailey Steward. When she was just a few weeks old, her parents moved to Champaign, Illinois. She attended elementary, junior high and high school and graduated from Champaign Senior High School.

As a young adult, she worked as a stock girl in downtown Champaign, and later as a Cook in fraternity and sorority houses on Campus.

She was a loyal member of Salem Baptist Church, where she served on the Usher Board, and worked with BYPU, the Sunday School and the Missionary Society for several years.

She passed away January 25, 1998.
